Updated: Boloor resident, 58-yr-old woman tests positive for COVID 19

Mangaluru:
A 58-year-old lady from Boloor in Mangauru has been tested positive for Coronavirus on Wednesday.

The lady was admitted to First Neuro Hospital due to a paralytic stroke and is said to have contracted the infection from Bantwal Narikombu resident who is numbered P-501.

Following this, the entire Boloor area has been sealed down by the district administration.

All roads in Boloor have been closed using barricades.

Update: District Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Thursday, April 30, declared the Boloor village in the Mangaluru taluk as an Active Containment Zone after the 58-year-old woman testes positive for COVID-19.

The Containment Zone is marked as – James D’Souza’s house on the East, Hindu Rudrabhoomi, Boloor on the West, Hotel B J and Hotel Sri Vinayaka, Sulthan Battery Road on the North and Hindu Rudrabhoomi, Boloor Entrance Road, Suthan Battery on the South.

The zone comprises 135 residential houses, 12 shops/offices and 640 people.

An area of 5 km around the containment zone has been marked as the buffer zone. This is bordered by Bondel to the East, the Arabian Ocean to the West, MCF National Highway to the North and the Nethravathi River to the South.

This zone comprises 16,350 residential houses, 1,275 shops/offices and 79,800 people.

Executive Engineer – 3 of Smart City Ltd., Mangaluru has been appointed as the Incident Commander who will be the overall in-charge of the Containment Zone.
