Mangaluru: The Unity Health Complex has received a prestigious international award from the European Medical Association (EMA) for Best Medical Practices.
The Chairman and Medical Director Dr. C P Habeeb Rehman was invited to receive the award at the Arab Health Congress held at Dubai, which is the second largest healthcare exhibition and congress in the world and the largest in the Middle East.
The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Vincenzo Costigliola, President of the European Medical Association, Brussels, Belium.
The award was given considering the excellent reputation of Unity Health Complex in regional healthcare initiatives, safe and effective treatment methods, highly professional medical staff, modern equipment and many years of continuous service in a healthcare delivery system.
Award for best medical practices from the prestigious EMA will result in increased flow of patients in the medical tourism sector. The EMA is located at Brussels, Belgium and represents the entire European Union (EU).
The Unity Health Complex had received many awards and recognition in the past. Below is a list of awards that they have received in the past seven years.
2010:
– Life Time Health Achievement Award 2010 awarded by the Health and Education Development Association for Outstanding Individual Achievement and Distinguished Services to the nation and National Seminar on Social Economic growth and National Integration on May 16, 2010 at New Delhi.
– Indian Leadership Award for Healthcare Excellence 2010 awarded by the Indian Economic Development and Research Association on the occasion of the National Seminar on National Economic Development and Social Responsibilities on September 30, 2010 at New Delhi. The Indian Leadership Award for Healthcare Excellence organised by the Indian Economic Development and Research Association was recently awarded to Dr. C P Habbeb Rahman, Chairman of Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru. The award was conferred by Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, former Union Minister, Dr. G V G Krishnamurthy, former Election Commissioner of India and Dr. B N Singh, former Governor and Union Minister in a function at Gulmohar, Habitat World, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi road, New Delhi. The award is given for outstanding contributions and services done in the field of healthcare in India.
2011:
-Best Aloysian Award 2011
-The Diamond Eye Award for Quality Commitment and Excellence organised by Otherways Management Association Club, Paris on November 28, 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland. Unity Hospital was the only hospital that was awarded among the 60 recipients from more than 100 countries.
2012:
-Life Time Achievement Award in Health Care Services by Gulf University, awarded by His Excellency Sheikh Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, UAE in 2012.
2013:
-International Status Award for Intellectual Development, Individual Contribution for International Integration by Global Achievers Foundation on January 4, 2013 in Bangkok.
-Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd. was awarded with “Inspirational Company” award along with “World Business Leader” award to Chairman of Unity Dr. C P Habeeb Rahman and “Excellence in Business Leadership” award, by the World Confederation of Business (The Bizz). With this award, Unity has become an elite member in the World Confederation of Business organisation. Other awardees from Asia include YES Bank, Doha Bank, Qatar Airways etc. The review was based on Managerial Leadership, Management Systems, Quality in Services, Managerial Creativity and Innovation, Social Responsibility, Performance, certifications and other recognition. Unity Care and Health Services Pvt. Ltd. obtained more than 90 points out of 100. The award ceremony was held at Atlantis, The Palm Hotel and Resort Dubai. 400 business leaders from the GCC and other 70 countries around the world attended the event.
2017:
-Awarded as Highly Effective Edupreneur (Entrepreneur in Education) of India, by the Indian Edupreneurship Summit and Awards on July 14, 2017 tat New Delhi. Award from the Indian Business and Professional Council (IFBC) Dubai.
The Chairman was the President of the Indian Medical Association in the Dakshina Kannada Branch for many years and had contributed immensely to the improvement of healthcare delivery system in the region. He is recognised for being a trendsetter in shifting hospital ambiance from illness focused to wellness focused.
