Union Minister inaugurates renovated laboratories of Vikas College

Mangaluru: Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Rural Sanitation Ramesh Jigajinagi along with Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertiliser Ananth Kumar inaugurated the renovated laboratories of Vikas Physiotherapy College, Mangaluru here on April 22.

Speaking on this occasion, Ananth Kumar analysed the need for more number of physiotherapists in India. The availability of trained physiotherapists is comparatively less and the awareness of the need is to be created in the young minds to opt for this stream as much as they wish to get into medical and engineering, he said. He felt that every avenue-adventures like hiking, trekking, yachting, cultural forms like Bharatanatyam, Yakshagana and sports like cricket, hockey, badminton-needs a Physiotherapist as a member in its team. He added that the massage centres can never be equivalent to physiotherapy as it has its own sanctity. He concluded saying that India will very soon become No. 1 Pharma segment as much as it desires to be No.1 software.

Ramesh Jigajinagi expressed his happiness over the developments happening in Vikas. He appreciated the socio-friendly nature of Krishna Palemar in imparting education besides his political career.
