Mangaluru: Windows and arches of a Masjid at Bajpe village, beyond Mangaluru International Airport, were destroyed after unknown persons threw stones at the mosque late night on Saturday.

Meanwhile, another similar incident was reported in the Majeshwar limits. The police said stones were also pelted at Al Bukhari mosque and Noorul Huda Madrasa at Bachalike near Kunjathur. As a result, mosque’s name board was torn down and its window panes were damaged by miscreants.

Popular Front of India (PFI) chief Athavulla, Majeed, Nazeer, Riyaz and others arrived at the spot and urged the police officials to arrest the culprits at the earliest.

A separate case has been registered in Bajpe and Manjeshwar police station.
