Mangaluru: A 35-year-old unidentified person was found beaten to death in a park located near State Bank, in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 8.

Police suspect that the miscreants initially hit the deceased with a tile and then proceeded to place a  concrete slab on his skull after he fell down.

The Mangaluru South police immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation, after locals informed them of the dead body.

The body has been shifted to the Wenlock Hospital mortuary for public identification.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South police station in this regard.
