Udupi dist. admn unearths major marks card forgery case

Udupi : It seems getting fake marks cards to make way into government jobs  has become easier these days. The busting of a major marks card forgery racket in Udupi ascertains the above fact.

Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr MT Reju has said  a major case of forgery wherein 13 persons who had applied for jobs for village accountants in the district had submitted fake PUC marks cards along with their applications, has come to light.

If 8 of them had been appointed on probationary basis, five have been selected but yet to undergo training, the DC said adding all the eight who have been appointed have been dismissed while action is yet to be taken against the other five. A police complaint has also been lodged against them, the DC informed.

The educational qualification for the post of village accountants is second PUC pass and of the 24 persons who had submitted applications 13 had forged PUC certificates. The DC said the suspicion arose when those appointed did not know proper Kannada and also did not have basic knowledge. Their marks cards were sent to the PUC board when it came to light they were fake, Dr MT Reju said.

Venkatesha M from Devanahalli, Bangalore, appointed at Kundapur, Basavaraj S P from Belur, Hassan, appointed at Aloor, Raghavendra P from Pandavapur, Mandya, appointed at Hermunde, Karkala, Kumar K from Honnavali, Davangere, appointed at Kantavar, Karkala, Laxminarayana K M from Chikkaballapur, appointed at Jepthi in Kundapur, Jayalaxmi S from Uchila-Someshawar in Mangalore, appointed at Udyavar, Lohitashwa N K from Channarayapatna, Hassan, appointed at Andaru, Karkala and Nagaraj G from Chikkaballapur, appointed at Molahalli in Kundapur, are the persons who reportedly forged their certificates.

The five producing fake marks cards who had been selected but were yet to join training are Harish K V from Shikaripura, Shimoga, Pavitra B C from Honnavali, Davangere, Asha V S from Honnavali, Davangere, Dinesh Kumar C from Soraba, Shimoga, Revanna Gowda G T from Ashoknagar, Shimoga, and Vasanth Kumar from Turuvekere, Tumkur.
