Mangaluru: State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader told reporters that the IT raid against State Minister for Power and Congress leader D K Shivakumar was revenge politics by the BJP-led union government.

As the Congress government is giving a good governance without any corruption or black mark since four years, BJP union government is using the official machinery for blackmail politics, he charged.

“In Gujarat, as the BJP is involved in horse trading Congress MLAs from there came to Karnataka seeking protection. BJP is misusing its power by having D K Shivakumar’s properties raided. This not a good politics. If the BJP-led union government is so concerned about corruption let it implement the Jan Lokpal Bill. We condemn BJP’s revenge politics”, he said.

On ration card matter, he said, “The state government has received 17,74,251 applications for ration card. From Dakshina Kannada it is about 21,116 applications. Along with State Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa, I have asked all deputy commissioners in the state to dispose the ration cards in the rural areas by August 10 and in urban areas by August 15.”

“Already the state government is providing 1 litre kerosene to APL card holders. If any APL card holder comes forward to give up the kerosene, the Food and Civil Supplies through State Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. will provide 2 rechargeable LED lights to the people”, he announced.
