Belthangady: As a result of a massive May Flower tree falling on a moving car in Ujire, two youths who were in the car have lost their lives, here on Saturday, May 4.

Vignesh (21), a resident of Ninnikallu village, died on the spot whereas Kshitij (24), a resident of Madanthyar, breathed his last in an ambulance on the way to a hospital at Punjalkatte.

The incident took place at Siddavana on the state highway.

The other two youth Sushanth and Harshith were sitting on the rear seat were saved by the airbags of the car that popped out but have sustained serious injuries.

It is known that all the four were travelling from Dharmasthala to Ujire.

As a result of the huge tree falling directly on top of the car, it has been completely damaged.

Due to the mishap, traffic congestion was observed for about an hour.
