Belthangady: A 45-year-old motorcyclist died after he collided with a lorry at Kudrotikatte near Punjalakatte hospital here. The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Poovappa Shetty, owner of Rakshith Service Station. It is said that Shetty was not wearing a helmet during the mishap.

He had suffered severe head injuries.  Shetty was carrying fruits and vegetables from a market and was returning home when the mishap occured. His house is located just about two kilometres away from the accident spot.

In another accident case reported at Adkar in Sullia, KVG Engineering College Lecturer Mahabala Kiran died on the spot after his motorcycle collided with a Swaraj Mazda.
