Mangaluru: Two persons were arrested on Monday, April 18 by the Surathkal police in connection with a recent murder attempt on a BJP leader near Krishnapura in Surathkal.
Mohammed Sharif (47) a resident of Krishnapura and Abdul Khader(37) from Kalavaru are the accused.
It is said that the duo had provided vehicle for the attackers on April 13.
It may be recalled that, Bharath Raj (26), the president of BJP unit in the 5th ward, while returning home in his bike, was allegedly attacked by a group of four men with lethal weapons. However, Bharath managed to flee from the spot. He later got admitted at Padmavathi hospital for suffering minor injuries.
The accused duo was arrested by Surathkal police insector Cheluvaraju B, sub-inspector Poovappa H M and team.
They were produced before the court and have been sent to judicial custody.
