
Mangaluru: The weekend in Mangaluru is off to a great start with the inauguration of Milagres College’s “Relish 2020”, a multi-cuisine food festival. The vibrant fest, which is being held in association with Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers’ Association (KCMA), was inaugurated at the Milagres Church Grounds on February 8 at 3 PM.
Inaugurating the festival, KCMA president P Subraya Pai said, “The event should help the students acquire knowledge about different varieties of food and tips on how to prepare food. It should also help the participants share their love and devotion for each other.”
At the food festival, which is open to all for free, several food counters attracted the attendees with unique signboards like ‘Sweet Tooth’, ‘Inchala Unda?’, ‘Kudla Hut’, ‘Sip On’ and others.
A cooking competition is also underway at the festival, the unique feature being that all dishes should contain cashews. This too is open to all who want to participate (you’ll need to register first) and is free of cost.
On the occasion, former chairman of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPCI) Walter D’Souza was felicitated.

Milagres College principal Rev Fr Michael L Santhumayor welcomed the gathering and convener of the fest, Denzil Celestine D’Costa proposed the vote of thanks.
