Bantwal: With two more arrests by the Vittal Police in connection with the alleged desecration of the Mother Mary’s Grotto at Kulal, the total number of arrests have now risen to four. The newly arrested are Vasanth Naik (37) and Yogesh Naik (32).

Both of them, residents of Kolnadu village near Kulal were arrested from Salethur. They were produced in the court which remanded them to judicial custody, according to police. 

Previously, Vittal Police had received a complaint on September 27 stating that some miscreants had destroyed the Grotto and hoisted saffron flags there. The police had then arrested locals Jayaram Naik and Monappa Naik.
