Tulunada Rakshana Vedike calls for a district bandh

Mangalore: The Tulunada Rakshana Vedike has called for a district bandh on Tuesday July 22 slamming over the incidents of atrocities, rape and sexual assaults on women and minors in the state.

M G Hegde said that it is very shameful as the political parties are blaming each other and politicizing the situation.

The district administration has been lenient about the issue and awareness about atrocities against women is at least in Dakshina Kannada, he said.

He also requested the people to observe the bundh, and stated that whosoever is against such heinous crime must observe the bundh. We all together must create awareness and be rigorous to such incidents. The rapist must be given stringent punishment for their act, added Hegde.

The organizers also informed that a protest will be held on Tuesday in front of the DC office at 11 am. Yogish Shetty the Jeppu president of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, Vijaya Nayar the organizing secretary, women’s wing, Ladies wing president Jyothika Jain and Secretary Vinutha D’Souza were also present.
