Tulu movie ‘Rang’ to hit silver screens across DK on Aug 8

Mangalore: The Tulu movie ‘Rang’ brought out under the banner Kateeleshwari Combines, will hit the silver screens on Friday August 8, informed Sukhpal Polali, Executive Producer of the film.

Speaking to the media at Cinepolis at City Centre, he said ‘Rang’ will be released at Big Cinemas, Cinepolis, Suchithra Theatre and PVR Multiplex in Mangalore, Kalpana Theatre in Udupi, Inox in Manipal, Nakshatra at B.C. Road,  Aruna of Puttur, Bharath of Belthangady, Radhika and Planet in Karkala and Amarashree in Moodbidri. He said this was the first time that a Tulu movie is being released in 12 theatres across the district .

The movie directed by Suhan Prasad and Vismaya Vinayak features Bollywood’s Comedy King Johny Lever for the first time in a non-Hindi film.  For lead actor Arjun Kapikad, this is his second film where he  is seen in a special get-up. Other star cast includes Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Satish Bandale. ‘Rang’ is based on a special story of Tulunad and has some thrilling sequences.

‘Rang’ has five songs directed by south India’s famed music director Manikanth Kadri and are already a hit.  The songs are composed by Bhasker Nellitheertha and Shashiraj Rao Kavoor. The song ‘Premanathe Pass Aathe’ too is  making waves. Gopinath Bhat of Veeramadakari fame  dons the role of the villain, while Chandrahas Ullal, Vismaya Vinayak and Dikshitha Acharya too are in the film cast. Some just out of college students are also part of the  ‘Rang’ cast.

Devadas Kumar Pandeshwar is the producer of the film presented by Prameela Dev. Directors Suhan Prasad, Vismaya Vinayak, Producer Devadas Kumar Pandeshwar, Prameela Dev, actors Devadas Kapikad, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and others were present at the press meet.
