Truck plunges into Gorge, 4 injured

Bantwal: Four persons including truck driver were injured, when a truck plunged into a gorge located inter-state Kalladka – Kanhangad Road at Padibagilu – Ukkuda, near here on Monday July 8.

The injured has been identified as thirty-four-year-old truck driver Kasim, twenty-six-year-old Arif, twenty-two-year-old Salam and twenty-four-year-old Younus. The injured are admitted in a private hospital in Vittal.

The truck owned by Abdul Aziz, a native of Ukkuda, was plying to Vittal loaded with laterite stones from Dharmatadka,  when he plunged into 25 feet deep gorge damaging the barrier, while maneuvering to allow oncoming another truck in a narrow stretch of road.

Vittal sub-inspector Madhav Koodlu visited the spot and booked a case in this regard.
