Mangaluru: As the Article 14 of the Indian Constitution defines “Right to Equality”, the Parivarthan Charitable Trust stands by it. The Trust is all set to organize a state-level beauty pageant on October 14 for transgenders.

The pageant is organized on the request of the Trust’s Secretary Sanjana, who is a transgender and Trust founder and managing trustee Violet Periera extended full support.
Sanjana is currently working as a beautician.

Speaking to the reporters, Periera said that the event will be held in association with an organization named Fashion ABCD and V4 media partner. The participants can register online through [email protected] by October 5.

After the logo release of the event, Mallanagouda Secretary of the Dakshina Kannada Legal Services Authority said, “Laws drafted on paper will not help the transgender section to lead a peaceful life, but the society at large should change its perception and attitude.”

He applauded the efforts of the Trust for empowering transgender.
