Haleyangadi: A man died on the spot here at Pakshikere while crossing railway track on September 17 morning.

The deceased is identified as Saleem(45), a resident of Haleyangadi. It is learnt that originally he hails from Vamanjoor.

Eye witnesses said that he was crossing the track when the train rammed into him and he died. The impact was so great that he could not be identified immediately. His face was completely disfigured.

It is also learnt that he was drunk and could not hear the train approaching.
