Bantwal: Traffic on the Kalladka-Kanhangad Inter-State Highway was affected for a few hours on Friday June 20 after a huge tree rolled on to the road near a masjid at Okkettur  in Vittal Kasaba village.

Vehicles heading towards Vittal and Kerala from Mangalore and  those proceeding towards Mangalore were seen lined up  on either sides of the road. As the tree fell during evening hours, even school and college students who were on way home were affected.

Finally, locals joined hands in shifting the tree branches from the road using a rope.
