Kasaragod: Close on the heels of children’s death in Payaswini river on November 28 afternoon, another tragic incident claimed the lives of two kids aged below five, who drowned in a well in Pilamkatte of Badiyadka on November 29.

Ramsan (4), son of Hameed and Naswan (2), son of Shabir are the deceased.
When the parents and relatives did not find the children playing in the open they set out on a search. To their utter dismay, they found the ill-fated children in an open well.
The 15-feet-deep well had 4 feet water in it. Locals heard the cries of parents and relatives and rushed to the spot and pulled out the bodies. The toddlers were declared brought dead by the health officials in Badiyadka Primary Health Centre.
Jelly stones were piled near the well surrounded by a wall. It is presumed that the children would have managed to reach the top of the well wall through the heap of jelly stones and then fell inside after losing their balance.
Badiyadka police have registered a case.
However, no post mortem was conducted on the bodies before handing them over to the relatives.
