Moodbidri: Closed circuit television cameras(CCTV) have been installed in Moodbidri to ensure safety of general public as well as avoid crimes.

Many shop owners and occupants of public places have responded positively to the initiative taken by police. Public places including bus stands, shopping complexes, religious places, educational institutions have come up with CCTVs. The police took initiative last year creating awareness among general public.
In Moodbidri as many as 40 CCTCs have come up to create crime free town. Canara Bus association have installed a CCTV worth Rs.80000 at Moodbidri bus stand. CCTVs have been installed in Beluvai Kanthavara cross, Bellecharu, Todaru mosque, Vidyagiri, Beluvai, Shirthady and Masthikatte.
Moodbidri inspector Anantha Padmanabha held discussions with several associations, shop owners, Bussinessmen, builders, Jewellery owners and public regarding installing CCTVs.
Even the muncipal authority have installed CCTVs in Indira Gandhi commercial complex near private bus stand to make garbage free city and ensure safety.
CCTVs will certainly help to prevent crime and even if crime takes place, police dept finds it easy to nab the culprits. We have received good response from the public, said Anantha Padmanabha.
