Tiny-tots make Lord Shri-Krishna come alive in Kadri

Mangalore:Children are the gifts of God. Whatever the they do, its a treat to watch. If the children themselves get dressed as God’s then you truly have “the heaven on Earth”.

Same was the situation in the Kadri temple when tiny tots of Mangalore got dressed themselves as Lord Krishna. It was the innocence of these young ones which made the spectators go speechless. Have a look…

Shri Krishna Vesha competition was organized at Kardri temple in various categories by the Kalkura Prathishtana. The purpose of the competition was to enhance cultural and religious awareness among the public and to showcase the natural beauty of small children. The competition, which commenced at 12 noon, will continue till 12 midnight.

The competition witnessed an active participation of more than 2000 participants.

The competition was held in 18 categories. The categories were titled “Kanda Krishna” for kids below the age of one and “Muddu Krishna” for kids below the age of two, which permitted mothers to accompany the children on the stage. The other categories were “Thunta Krishna” for children aged 2 – 3, “Bala Krishan” for KG and LKG kids, “Kishora Krishna” for kids of UKG and I Std, “Shri Krishna” for children of II, III, and IV Stds, “Geetha Krishna,” which includes scenes of the Geethopadesha for students up to VII Std, and “Yaksha Krishna” for students up to VIII Std, requiring them to wear Yakshagana costumes such as “kedage,” “pagadi,” and “mandale,” “Radhakrishna,” “Yashoda Krishna” for women as well as children, “Shankanada,” and a special competition called “Devaki Krishna.” The children’s mothers also danced on stage as part of the “Devaki Krishna” and “Vasudeva Krishna” categories.

Besides, a “Bala Krishna” quiz competition for students up to Std VII and “Shri Krishna” Quiz was held for children above Std. VII. Apart from it a special category has been introduced titled “Krishna Photography” for  Krishna with attractive poses was held.

The competitions are being held in 8 platforms in Kadri Shri Manjunath temple’s Abhishek Hall in both the floors- Manjushree, Ashwattha Katte, Kadri Kere, Shri Krishna Janmashtami Samiti main stage, Kalyana Mantapa and Ganapati temple.

Earlier, the competetion was inaugurated by Laxminarayana Asranna.

Each child participant received a panchaloha idol of Kadegolu Krishna, Bhagavadgita, a certificate, a picture of Lord Manjunatha, and an attractive cloth bag each. The children were also served hot milk, peda, and ice cream.
