Kasaragod: A saw mill went up in flames in Uppala on the morning of January 3, reducing the timber stocked into ashes within minutes.
Bombay Timber Saw Mills owned by Abubkkar Haji at Kaikamba near Uppala was gutted in the incident.

Fire service personnel and locals rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

It is gathered, a spark from a nearby canteen ignited the saw dust and eventually the entire mill was engulfed in flames resulting in Rs 10 Lakh loss.
