Timber laden lorry rams into car killing one at Kasargod

Kasargod: In a freak accident that occurred on the National highway near Padankad on Friday, May 27, a timber laden truck moved backwards and rammed into a car car parked behin, killing one person and seriously injuring the other.


The deceased, Gopalkrishnan, aged 58 is the resident of Beturpara near Bandadka.

His associate Girish who was seriously injured in the accident was later admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The accident took place when Gopalkrishaan and his family members were on their way to a shrine. When the car reached Padankad the truck started moving backwards and within fraction of second the logs protruding from the truck hit Gopalkrishnan and later Girish who were inside. Gopalkrishnan   succumbed on his way to hospital where as seriously injured Girish was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
