TIARA 2017, two-day national-level Tech Fest kick starts at SJEC

Mangaluru: The annual two-day National Level Tech Fest TIARA 2017 was inaugurated here at St Joseph Engineering College Vamanjoor, Mangaluru on 22 February.The Fest was inaugurated by Rev Fr Denzil Lobo, Director, AIMIT at Kalam Auditorium in the college campus.

Addressing the gathering Fr Denzil said, “India’s 50% of the population consists of youth and they have a bright future. To be successful you need to reinvent yourself. You too can can be CEOs of big companies like Satya Nadella one day. Every successful company invents something new. If you see, many big achievers were ordinary people, but they had passion and hard work. You have to put in hard work to become iconic. Productive thinking is also very essential and the god gifted brains must be used in a productive way. Break the barrier to become successful,” adding further he said that fests like Tiara help students to come up with ideas. “Today engineering has become any other under graduate degree where students are concentrating on scoring good marks. But education is all about developing skill. Unless you put in 10,000 hardwork you cannot become leaders,” he said.

Rev. Fr Joseph J. Lobo, Director – SJEC, addressing the gathering lauded Fr Denzil Lobo for his service and love for the poor. Calling upon students to be a source of giving to others, he said, “You are the future of the country, the campus and yourself. You are the ambassadors of this institution. There is no short cut to be successful only hard work can take you there. What you want to be, who you want to be is in your hand.”
