Kasargod: In an unfortunate incident, three young boys who had ventured into a pond near Mada of Udyavar in Manjeshwar drowned on Saturday, June 10.

The deceased are Hashim (11), Abdul Afrid (10) and Mohammed Saleem (11), residents of BS Nagar, Kunjathur.

It is gathered that the boys had gone out in the evening and did not return till late night. The parents then started searching for the kids and found their slippers by the pond. Upon searching further they sighted the bodies of the boys in the water.

The bodies were sent to a mortuary at Mangalpady.

A case stands registered with the Manjeshwar police.
