Sullia: Three family members were killed on the spot and two suffered serious injuries when a tipper lorry hit their car in which they were traveling. The incident took place on Wednesday at Kadapala in Sampaje.

According to the police, the deceased are Lakshmi Narayana Bheemaguli (60), his wife Chinnamma (52) and son Avinash (35). The family hails from Pambethadi village. The injured are Bhavya (32), wife of Avinash and her son Abhinandan (6). 

The police said that the family was returning after attending a funeral at Virajpet. The Tipper was plying towards Madikeri from Mangaluru. The intensity of the accident was so high that the car was thrown off the road and was in a mangled state.

All of them were stuck inside the car and the locals struggled two get Bhavya and Abhinandan, the two injured remove them safely. 

Laksmi Narayana was serving as director of Pambethadi Society, Pambethadi Milk Society, while Avinash was the president of Panja Jaycees.
