Bantwal: District in-charge minister B. Ramanath Rai inaugurated a State level ‘Yuvajana Mela’ here at DK Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School in Vittal on Saturday.
The three day state level mela is organized by Dakshina Kannada district administration, Youth service and sports department, Taluk panchayath Bantwal, Taluk youth federation Bantwal and Prashsthi Vijetha Youth association Vittal.

Dharmasthala Dr Veerendra Heggade who presided over the programme said that it is sad to know that today’s young generation is being badly influenced by cinema and modern culture. Instead youth should serve the nation and thereby can serve the humanity as a whole, he said.
In his address, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said this is an opportunity for the rural talents and they must make most use of it. He also congratulated ministers Ramanath Rai and Abhaychandra Jain for organising the programme.
Dakshina Kannada district panchayath president Asha Timmappa Gowda inaugurated exhibition counter and urged the sports department to give financial aid to the rural talents.

State youth Mela working committee president M S Mohammad gave introductory speech. Apara district commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu welcomed the gathering. District panchayath vice secretory N R Umesh rendered vote of thanks. Ramachandra Rao compered the programme.
National Award to Teachers winner Ramesh Nayak Rayi and B S Malleswamy who retired recently were felicitated by Dr Veerendra Heggade.
