Thousands witness hotelier Basheer’s last rites in Kulur

Mangaluru: The last rites of hotelier Ahmed Basheer who breathed his last after battling for four days post brutal attack by the right wing activists, was held here on January 7 at Kulur mosque.

The final rites were fixed for Sunday evening since his second son Irshad was supposed to arrive here from abroad. Irshad directly arrived at the mosque and participated in the last rites.

Thousands of people gathered during the final rites of Basheer amid tight police security.

It may be recalled that Basheer, a hotelier was brutally attacked by miscreants on January 3 in retaliation to the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla. In the case of Basheer, four right wing activists have been arrested by the Mangaluru police.
