Mangaluru: Christians across the city congregated at their respective churches to take part  Good Friday services which included the Way of the Cross and adoration of the blessed sacrament here on April 3.

The period of mourning the death of Christ will end late night on Saturday, when the Easter celebrations will formally begin.

For many Christians, who have been fasting or observing Lent for the past 40 days, Easter marks the end of the 40-day period of repentance and penance.
