Third annual Rotaract district conference ‘Sneha-Sanchaya’ inaugurated

Mangaluru: The Rotaract Club of Mangaluru city inaugurated its third annual Rotaract district conference ‘Sneha-Sanchaya’, to be held on February 29 and March 1, at the Officers Club auditorium, Hathill, Lalbagh.

Inaugurating the conference, Rotary International District 3181 Governor and Mysuru-based educationist Rtn Joseph Mathew said that the Rotaract Club is an international youth organisation. “The purpose of the organisation is to develop the personality and give career guidance to the youth. The club should emphasize on club extension and membership development activities to make the organisation strong,” he said, adding that there should be a good bond between Rotarians and Rotaract members.

Assistant Governor Rtn Geethanand Pai and District Rotaract Committee Chairman Rtn Yathish Baikampady were the chief guests and guided the delegates about the Rotaract movement. Host club president Rtr. Sheldon Crasta presided over the programme and welcomed all the delegates and guests.

District Rotaract representative Ganesh Bhat, in his address, highlighted the achievements recorded by his district during 2010-20.

Conference committee chairman Rtr Pavan Manjeshwar presented the two-day conference’s agenda. Chairman of the host club Rtn Dr Devadas Rai delivered the felicitation address and told the Rotaractors that they will have a bright future.

On the occasion, students of ‘Spoorthi’, an association for physically challenged people, presented a welcome dance and entertained the audience. The director of ‘Spoorthi’, Prakash was felicitated for his immense contribution in the field of dance and social service.

District Secretary Rtr Subramani proposed the vote of thanks.

Around 250 delegates hailing from the Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Chamarajnagar and Kodagu districts attended the programme.
