Bantwal: Cops arrested five persons who had allegedly planned to burgle houses in Vittal area. They had plans to loot rich people who stay alone. On Tuesday October 14, the police arrested the robbers near Kepu Ashram.

The arrested are identified as Asif Rahiman, Shareef and Aziz, residents of Kushalnagar in Madikeri.
Abdul Rahiman and Purandhar Naik from Puttur were also arrested.
Shareef has theft cases registered in Murnadu Police station in Madikeri. He also faces cases for allegedly looting tourists in Goa.
Asif Rehman and Abdul Rehman became friends when they met each other in Gulf four years back. Accused from Puttur along with three persons from Kushalnagar and targeted houses belonging to rich in the area.
Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar abd Cirlce inspector Belliyappa with the guidance of District SP Sharanappa with confirmed information regarding thier laid a trap.
DCIB Sanjeev Purusha and Vittal sub inspector Raghavendra T R have taken a Maruti Omni into custody in which accused were heading towards Kepu Ashram school from Toranakatte.
In the Omni police found chilly powder, three weapons, one knife, five cellphones. While interrogating, they told police about the- plan.
The arretsed have been produced in the court and taken into custody. The operation was carried by DCIB team comprising Uday Rai, Palani Velu, Iqbal, Tharanath, Praveen Rai, Janardhana, Rakshith Rai and Lokesh from Vittal police station.
