Belthangady: Thieves broke into a house and looted valuables worth over Rs 3lakhs on Thursday January 9, during day time. The house belonged to Dayanand Nayak, owner of MN Computers.

The stolen jewellery  included two gold chains, two bangles, five finger rings, four pair of ear rings and some silver articles.  There was no one in the house when the thieves entered the house by breaking open the door. It is speculated that the theft occurred between 11 am and 1 pm.

Bhat has been staying in the house from the past six years and there are other houses in the locality which is prominently a busy area.

Belthangady police are investigating the case.
