Ullal: Thieves broke into Carmel school building and decamped with laptop, CCTV set top boxes but their attempt to break into adjacent St.Mary’s aided school failed.

They managed to enter the offices through a window which can only allow a child to pass though has led to few doubts. The school office did not have any cash as the fees amount is directly credited to the bank account.

Later they broke the shutters and entered the food store room through which mid day meals are served to the school children. As they did not find any valuables they have opened few files and have left behind expensive public address system accessories and other electronic items.

They have taken only a laptop and set-top box of CCTV which contains the hard disk which police feel is the handiwork of knowledgeable persons.

Finger print experts and sniffer dogs were employed to collect vital clues. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
