Bantwal :Shree Parshwanatha Basadi was burgled here on August 19. The basadi is located in Kajekaru in Badagakajekaru village in Bantwal.

The thieves have stolen 2 pairs of Brass Gaggara, gante, gold chain put on Padmavathi statue and Basava statue, and many other things made of Brass. The valuables worth 50,000 have been stolen.
The basadi belongs to Rathnakumar family from Kakyapadau in Uli village. The thieves tried to rob gold and silver from the basadi. As the valuables were not kept inside the basadi, thieves escaped with other things.
Earier also there was an theft attempt but in vain.
The theft came to the notice of Narayana Belandur when he came to the Basadi to perform pooja. The dog squad was brought to the spot to trace the culprits.
Bantwal DYSP Rashmi Paraddi, Belthangady circle inspector Lingappa Poojary, Poonjalakatte station officer Lathan Kumar are investigating the matter.
