Bantwal :Thieves stole cash as well as other things from a shop here at Melkar junction in NH 75.

The theft took place in Ganesh Traders, a shop belonging to Vallabhesh Shenoy, in Prasanna complex. The thieves broke the shutter and a Portable generator, a Gas cylinder, 7 kg of cashew nuts and Rs: 40,000 cash from the drawer.

When Vallabhesh opened the shop on Thursday, he came to know about the theft.

Bantal CI Belliyappa, SI Nandakumar, Chandrashekaraiah and staff came to the spot and are investigating. Dog squad and finger print experts have also arrived to the place.

A case has been registered in Bantwal city police station.

The theft took place as its raining heavily from last two days and it is said that the thieves have made use of the oppurtunity.
