Bantwal: In a new development it is now learnt that the cash and jewellery stolen from the Sri Bhagavathi Co-operative Bank Ltd on BC Road in Bantwal taluk was worth Rs 1.65 crore and not Rs 6 crore.

Earlier the bank had estimated the value of the stolen items as Rs 6 crore. However later, after the bank checked the records and a thorough probe by the police, it became known that the loss is around Rs 1.65 crore.
The sudden reduction in the value of the stolen cash and jewellery has raised suspicion against the bank and several people have questioned the bank’s credibility.
the theft has had taken place on Monday afternoon at Bhagavathi Cooperative Bank. A complaint was also lodged at the local police station by the bank.
