Mangalore : A macabre accident reported at Padil Junction on July 16, Tuesday night, claimed the life of a woman while her husband was critically injured.
The mishap occurred at around 10 pm when the couple were on way to their home at Kodakkal after closing down their flower shop Shree Durga at Kankanady. A speeding tempo knocked down the bike throwing the woman onto the street and killing her on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Savithri (40). Her husband Javaregowda who is critically injured has been admitted to hospital.
The couple have two daughters and a son. Kankanady Rural police have registered a case.
