Sullia: A 17-year-old boy died of serious head injuries after he slipped and fell into river Payaswini when he ventured into a stream for a bath here on May 27 near Peralu in Mandekolu village.

Jio Benny son of Benny and Suni, residents of Bellur Kolathilpara in Kasargod is the deceased. He was a second PU student and was awaiting results.

On Thursday, Jio had been to the stream for a bath along with his grandfather. Meanwhile, he slipped and fell suffering serious head injuries. Even though he was rushed to hospital in Sullia, doctors declared him dead.

He had come to his maternal home in Peralu two days ago for summer vacation.

Sullia police have registered a case in this regard.
