Taluk panchayat member alleges congressmen for disrupted road

Bantwal: The 100-metre stretch of Tarabari road, which connects Amtoor, Sajipamunnur and Sajipamooda villages remains to be asphalted because of the objections raised by a Congress worker, alleged Taluk panchayat member, Dinesh Amtoor.

Addressing the plight of the people Dinesh Amtoor said that the road is the only connectivity for the people of the village and the distorted conditions have made it very difficult for the residents to travel. Apart from this daily commuters include students and employed.

A local Congress activist named Sharat has suddenly claimed the land through which this road passes as his own due to which the 100 metres stretch of this road has not been asphalted.

Adding to the misery, the portion of the road has become mushy and looks like agricultural field during the rainy season. Former MLA, K Padmanabha Kottary, visited this disputed stretch of the road on Tuesday evening after the allegations were imposed. He informed that assistant commissioner from Mangalore to inspect and resort the issue.

Chandrashekhar Tailor, Amtoor gram panchayat member, Gopal Poojary, and others were present during the meet.
