Talapady and 24 other places to demand a negative RT-PCR test from March 22

Mangaluru: Passengers travelling between Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod will be required to produce a Covid-19 negative certificate from March 22, said KV Rajendra, Deputy Commissioner.

Checkpost will be established at Talapdy and 24 other places to monitor the movement of people at the border. Those entering from Kerala and Maharasthra will have to carry a negative certificate procured after the RT-PCR test is done 72 hours before their entry. He further added that the Rapid Antigen Test will not be accepted.

Personnel at the check-posts will also maintain data of regular state-border crossers and they will be asked to produce a negative certificate fortnightly. They will also conduct random testing on passengers.

All other roads except for roads connecting DK and Kasargod district with maximum traffic will be closed to limit the passage of individuals.
