Mangaluru/Bengaluru: The state government has transferred T. R. Suresh from the Police Fire Services in Bengaluru to be the new Commissioner of Police in Mangaluru.

T. R. Suresh will once again fill the post of the Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru city. He had earlier been posted here as the Police Commissioner of Mangaluru in June 2017.

Suresh, an MBA graduate from the University of Mysore, was inducted into IPS in 2003 after serving in various positions in the police force since 1991. He served as In-charge Superintendent of Police in Kodagu and then as Superintendent of Police in Bagalkot, Raichur and Tumakuru.

Suresh was also the Deputy Commissioner of Police in theNorth East and North divisions, respectively in Benglauru. He also bagged the coveted President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service during the Republic Day celebrations held on January 26, 2018.

Earlier, 1999-batch IPS officer Vipul Kumar, IGP and Mangaluru city police commissioner had been transferred with immediate effect and posted as IGP and Director, Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru until further orders.
