Mangaluru: The members of the Ullal block congress filed a complaint against Hindu Mahasabha chief Swami Pranavananda for using words with the intention of insulting and promoting enmity between religions.
According to the complaint, Swami Pranavananda reportedly said that ‘all Muslims are terrorists’ and called U T Khadar a ‘loafer’, during a protest, following the Ulaibettu clash.
Based on the complaint, the Ullal police have charged Swami Pranavananda under section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race etc) and section 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person), and section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC.
