Sumangali Jewellery burglary case: Police get vital leads

Kasaragod: Police managed to get vital leads in connection with Sumangali Jewellery shop burglary that took place in the wee hours of morning on April 20. Police suspect the hand of same gang involved in the burglary of another outlet 6-7 months ago.

In the latest incident, thieves managed to dig through the wall of the jewellery shop in Bandadka area to clean up all valuables in the wee hours of Thursday.

Staff realised about the theft, when they opened the shutters in the morning only to find items scattered with lockers broken and jewellery including gold and silver missing.

Police have found hand gloves near the wall where thieves made hole and suspect the involvement of more than 5 members in the burglary.

The loss is estimated at around Rs 15.41 Lakh.

Finger print experts and dog squads was pressed into service. Police have intensified search operations to nab the main accused.
