The Second PU Examinations commenced in Dakshina Kannada with a promising start as the first day concluded successfully. In the district, 20,776 students were enrolled for the Kannada language examination, with 20,650 students attending, while 126 were absent. For the Arabic examination, all 191 registered students appeared.
Across the 53 examination centres in Dakshina Kannada, a total of 36,147 students registered, including 34,125 general students, 1,635 private candidates, and 387 repeaters. Stringent measures, such as prohibition orders within 200 meters around the examination centres and the closure of photocopy shops, were implemented to ensure the integrity of the exams. Fortunately, no untoward incidents were reported on the first day.
In Udupi district, an impressive 99.53% of students participated in the Kannada examination on the first day of the Second PU Examinations. Out of the 9,389 students registered for the Kannada language examination, 44 students, comprising 25 boys and 19 girls, were absent. The examination proceeded smoothly, with no reported incidents of copying or any other illegal activities.
Officials, including ADC Mamata Devi, actively monitored the examination centres to maintain a secure and conducive environment for the students. The overall atmosphere was commendable, reflecting a positive start to the examination season in both districts.
