Studying effect of Ayur med on Regen. med, Yenepoya has MOU with BEMKAM Belgavi

Mangaluru: Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KLE’s Shri B. M. Kankanawadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi for collaboration on academic and research activities.

The MoU will cover Collaborative Research, Training programs, joint programs on Education, Faculty & Students Exchange.

The MoU was signed on 08.03.2021 at the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) campus in Deralakatte Mangalore.  Dr VijayaKumar, Vice Chancellor, Dr Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar, and Dr Rekha P D, Deputy Director YRC represented Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and Dr B.S. Prasad, Principal, Dr Giridhar Vedantam, Research Coordinator and Dr Swarda Uppin, Faculty represented KLE’s Shri B M Kankanawadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi.

The initial research will focus on the effect of Ayurvedic medicines on regenerative medicine and subsequently, more research studies using animal models developed as per the descriptions in the Ayurveda literature will be taken up jointly. For this, facilities available on both the institutes will be used by the researchers.  The two institutes are hopeful that this collaboration will lead to some exemplary research work that will benefit not only the scientific world but also the healthcare sector.
