Moodabidri: Alva’s Education Foundation organised a grand Christmas event where thousands of students’ witnessed a beautiful ceremony at Rathnkararvarni hall in Vidyagiri on December 21.
Around 300 students clad in Christmas attire, sang carols and Christmas songs to entertain the huge gathering in a colourful program. The entire hall was bedecked with stars and lighting. Students’ enacting the beautiful sight of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem was most impressive of all.
Bellary Bishop Dr. Henry D’Souza was the chief guest on the occasion and delivered the Christmas message where he dealt in brief on equality, love and peace. Christmas enlightens divine human values in holy community life, he said.
Alva’s education foundation head Dr. Mohan Alva in his presidential address emphasised on the impact brotherhood can create in modern times and the implications if it does not exist.
Alva’s hospital ward has been named after Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata and a special stature will be erected in her name within year, Dr.Alva declared.
Alangaru parish priest Fr. Basil Vas, Saverapura parish priest Fr. Rakesh Mathias, Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozorio, Pastor Aby Abraham along with several others graced the occasion.
Prizes were distributed for deserving winners and dinner was served for all in the end.
