Mangaluru: All College Student’s Association staged a one-day hunger strike in front of the DC office on Saturday August 26 demanding a speedy probe into the death of Kavya, a student of the Alva’s institution.

The hunger strike is being held from 8:30am till 4:30pm to protest against the delay in the investigation process which has seen no progress.

Addressing the protest Dinkar Shetty, All College Student’s Association mentor said that one of their demand is that government provide compensation to Kavya’s family.

“Though the case is nearly a month old there has been no progress in it. The investigation is proceeding at a very slow pace and students continue to remain in a fearful state since the incident,” he said adding that the police should reveal the truth about the incident and justice should be given to her family.
