Mangalore: A voting awareness programme was organized by JCI wing Bellare at Central Market here on Sunday March 30; a group of people displayed the importance of voting by exhibiting a street play.







Before the play the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Union (DKDWJU) president P B Harish Rai addressed the gathering.
He said, “There is no difference between opting for None of the Above (NOTA) and abstaining from voting. The campaign preached about NOTA could be unfavorable because NOTA cannot be an option for the voter. The voter should exercise franchise by voting for an individual rather than choosing the new option.”
Various other issues with regards to voting were displayed during the street play. A large number of people gathered to see the play.
Past zonal president, Aravind Rao Kedige, Members of the JCI, Bellare staged a street play, ‘Namma nade boothinede’ (Our walk towards election booth) to create awareness on the voting rights among the people.
