Mangaluru: The Christian Development Committee, Government of Karnataka, on Thursday, March 5, thanked Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for earmarking a sum of Rs 200 crores for the development of the Christian community.

In a press release, chairman of the Christian Development Committee, Joylus D’Souza thanked the CM on behalf of the Christian community in Karnataka.

“The Christian community welcomes that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has announced Rs 200 crores in the state budget for the development of the community. In the Budget 2011-12, when Yediyurappa was the Chief Minister, funds of Rs 50 crores was announced for the Christian community. Now, the funds announced are Rs 200 crores and this shows the CM’s concern for the Christian community,” the statement read.
