Mangaluru: Karnataka Minorities Commission chairperson Balkhees Banu on Friday said that the state government will host a series of workshops across the state, with an aim to inculcate the spirit of brotherhood among people of different religion.

It has to be ended with mutual discussion and awareness. We have to take our youth into confidence, she said adding that it was a deep rooted among people and cannot be changed overnight.

Ms. Banu also said that the commission will be sending a report to the state government on the Ulaibettu clash. “I have asked the district administration and Mangaluru City police to draft the report and we will send it in a week or two”, she said.

She also requested the leaders belonging to different organizations to avoid making speeches which provoke people to get into communal clashes. “Listen to good people with good thoughts. Communal violence is a greatest threat to the country”, she said.
